I have a few obsessions. One is baking. There’s something meditative about creating something sweet in the kitchen. A lot of my childhood memories involve baking or cooking with the family, or at the very least, the delicious treats my family would serve on special occasions, like homemade pies, cakes, breads, and cookies.

My second obsession is video games. In school, I used to play games instead of doing my homework, so it felt like a wise step to get my bachelor’s degree in video game design. (Which I did!) Video games have always been – to me – a form of interactive storytelling. How enchanting and complex game worlds are! And to be the main character and explore the world for myself? Such a beautiful way to spend some time. I’m especially drawn towards Otome and virtual novels, with their heavy storytelling elements and gorgeous art.

And the last obsession is romance. I love romantic games, romantic foods, and romantic lifestyles. When I was younger, I started my own online magazine about marriage and relationships, and even got to intern at Focus on the Family while taking classes on marriage dynamics. I wanted to write articles and books on keeping romance alive in relationships. But I ended up writing romance novels instead!

“So why not combine a few obsessions into a little baking blog?” I thought. “A delicious side quest of sweet treats inspired by games and the love of baking.”
